The Oldest God — The Eternal One and King of the All Gods

author: High Priest Zevios Metathronos

A Sermon on the Name That Became the Word

Every language carries a secret. Not in its poetry. Not in its literature. In its most basic vocabulary. In the word it uses for "God." People globally, in all their languages, call upon God. Who is this "God" however, little do they know.

When a Catholic priest, believing he follows "an Abrahamic religion that replaced the Old Gods", in São Paulo opens his mouth and says "Deus," he is speaking Latin. Yet, here are the Gods, who are immortal, and cannot be moved or removed by any means, appearing in the very first instrument of his use: His Tongue.

The Latin word deus descends from the Proto-Indo-European root *dyeu-, meaning "to shine, sky, daylight." That root is the same root that gives us the name ZEUS. The root existed before the "Gospel" and before Abrahamism itself; by thousands of years. They just found it; new cloth, the God did not even change position at all. By a form of divine prank or divine comedy, these people literally, utter still their prayers, into what they claim they "could replace". Yet, a power beyond all human scope, cannot be moved by the doctrines of a few misplaced beliefs. The God has stayed there. Waiting for humanity to recover from it's surface mistakes and errors of falsehood. The price of this falsehood and hypocrisy, is the price they pay in ignorance for not being Truthful, as the God that sits on their lips, but they desecrate by improper invocation.

The proof of this, is rather direct. Hidden and obvious, in plain sight.

Deus is not a translation of Zeus. Deus IS Zeus, carried forward through 3,000 years of phonetic evolution so faithfully that historical linguists can trace every step of the journey.

This is not a theological claim being made here. It is a documented fact of comparative linguistics, attested by Sihler (New Comparative Grammar of Greek and Latin), Fortson (Indo-European Language and Culture), Beekes (Etymological Dictionary of Greek), and Mallory and Adams (The Oxford Introduction to Proto-Indo-European and the Proto-Indo-European World).

The priest does not know this. He does not need to. The word knows.

The Family Tree of a Single Root

The Proto-Indo-European *dyeu- ("bright sky, daylight, the shining one") is the ancestor of the word for "God" and "divine" in every branch of the Indo-European language family. One root. One meaning. One God.

Greek: Ζεύς (Zeus), with oblique stem Δι- (Di-os, Di-i), and θεῖος (theios, "divine"). The name of the Father of Gods and men is the direct, unbroken continuation of *Dyēus.

Latin: deus (god), divus (divine), dies (day), and Iuppiter, which is a compound: *Dyēu-pəter, "Sky Father," the exact same title reconstructed for the Proto-Indo-European original: Dyeus Pitar.

French: dieu, divin. Every French speaker who says "Mon Dieu" is saying "My Zeus," filtered through Latin, filtered through PIE, but phonetically unbroken.

Spanish: dios, divino. The 560 million native Spanish speakers on Earth use this word daily.

Italian: dio. Portuguese: deus. Romanian: zeu. Every Romance language carries the name.

English: deity, divine, divinity. The Germanic word "god" has a separate etymology, but the formal English vocabulary for the sacred, the words used in theology, philosophy, and law, descends directly from Latin deus and therefore from *dyeu-. Even "Tuesday" descends from Tīwes-dæg, the day of Tīwaz, the Germanic reflex of Dyēus.

Sanskrit: devá (god, divine being), dyáuṣ pitā́ (Sky Father). When a Hindu priest invokes the devas, he is using the Sanskrit cognate of Zeus. The Rigveda addresses Dyáuṣ Pitā directly: the same God, the same title, the same root, separated by geography but united by language.

Lithuanian: diẽvas (God). Lithuanian is the most archaic living Indo-European language. Its word for God has barely changed in 5,000 years. It is almost identical to the reconstructed PIE form.

Latvian: dievs. Albanian: Zot (God), derived from *dyeu- through a uniquely Albanian phonetic pathway. Hittite: šiuš (god), from the Anatolian branch of PIE, attested in cuneiform tablets from the 17th century BCE.

Tocharian A: ñäktë, from the most geographically isolated branch of Indo-European, spoken in what is now western China. Even there, in the Tarim Basin, the word for the divine traces back to *dyeu-.

One root. From Ireland to India. From Iceland to the Tarim Basin. From the 17th century BCE to this morning's Mass. The word for God, across half the planet, is the name of Zeus.

His Identities Across the Aeons

But Zeus is not only a name carried by language. He is a God carried by worship. Every civilization that preserved the original spiritual inheritance of humanity worshipped a supreme Head God: the Father of Gods and men, the ruler of the heavens, the wielder of thunder and lightning, the upholder of justice and cosmic law.

The Temple of Zeus has documented over thirty of these identities. They are not "similar gods." They are not "cultural parallels." They are the same God, worshipped under the names that each people gave Him:

Dyeus Pitar in the Proto-Indo-European tongue, reconstructed from the convergent testimony of a dozen daughter languages. The Original Father.

Zeus (Ζεύς) in Hellas, where He ruled the most advanced civilization in ancient history for over a millennium.

Jupiter (Iuppiter) in Rome, compound of *Dyēu-pəter. The Romans knew exactly who they were worshipping: the Sky Father, by name.

Indra in the Vedic world, the Thunderer, king of the Devas, wielder of the vajra. The Rigvedic Indra and the Homeric Zeus share not only function but specific mythological motifs: the thunderbolt, the victory over the serpent of chaos, the sovereignty over the assembly of Gods.

Atum in Heliopolis, the self-created one who spoke the world into existence from the primordial waters. ATUM = 811 in Greek isopsephy. IAΩ = 811. The identity is not merely theological. It is mathematical.

Amun-Ra in Thebes, the Hidden One who is also the visible Sun. Ammon in the Libyan oracle, where Alexander the Great was confirmed as son of Zeus-Ammon.

El in Canaan and Ugarit, the supreme deity of the Semitic pantheon, the Father of the Gods. This is the same El that gives "Elohim," "El Shaddai," "El Elyon," and ultimately (through the Arabic al-ilāh) "Allah." The God whom 1.9 billion Muslims invoke was originally the Semitic face of the same supreme deity.

Hadad and Marduk in Mesopotamia. Ahura Mazda in Persia. Perun among the Slavs. Perkūnas among the Balts. Thor and Odin among the Norse (Thor as the Thunderer, Odin as the All-Father: two aspects of the same original). Beli Mawr and An Daghdha among the Celts. Tinia among the Etruscans. Tarhunt among the Hittites. Sabazios among the Thracians. Zamolxis among the Dacians.

Shangdi in China: the "Supreme Deity" worshipped before Buddhism or Taoism arrived, the Heavenly Sovereign.

Shango in the Yoruba tradition, the Thunder God. Nzazi in the Kongo tradition. Ngai among the Maasai and Kikuyu.

Raijin in Japan, the God of Thunder and Lightning.

Tlaloc among the Aztecs. Viracocha among the Inca.

The Hindu Trinity of Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu: three aspects of the supreme creative, preserving, and transformative power.

All of them are Him. Across every continent. Across every millennium. Under every sky.

The Calculation

If we take the linguistic evidence and the theological evidence together, and ask the simple question: How many people on Earth today either use a word for "God" that etymologically derives from Zeus's name, or worship a deity that is historically and functionally identical to Zeus under another name?

The answer is staggering.

Layer 1: The Linguistic Inheritors

Those who use a word for "God" or "divine" etymologically derived from *dyeu-/Zeus:

Language Group Word(s) Approximate Speakers
Spanish Dios, divino 560 million
French Dieu, divin 320 million
Portuguese Deus, divino 260 million
English deity, divine, divinity 1.5 billion
Italian Dio, divino 85 million
Romanian Zeu 24 million
Sanskrit/Hindi/Indo-Aryan deva, devata 1.2 billion
Lithuanian Dievas 3 million
Latvian Dievs 1.5 million
Albanian Zot 7 million
Other Indo-European various 100+ million

With overlap removed (English speakers who are also Christian, Hindi speakers who are also Hindu), the linguistic layer alone covers approximately 3.5 to 4 billion unique individuals who routinely use a word for "God" or "the divine" that is, etymologically, the name of Zeus.

Layer 2: The Theological Inheritors

Those who worship a deity that the historical and theological record identifies as Zeus under another name. A few of them, lie unto themselves, but language betrays them before they...speak:

Tradition Identity of Zeus Approximate Adherents
Christianity (all) Deus (from *Dyēus) 2.4 billion
Islam Allah (from al-ilāh, from El) 1.9 billion
Hinduism Indra, Devas, Hindu Trinity 1.2 billion
Buddhism Śakra/Indra (king of the Devas) 500 million
Chinese folk religion Shangdi 400 million
African traditional Shango, Nzazi, Ngai 100 million
Japanese Shinto Raijin 80 million
Other traditions Various thunder/sky/father deities 50+ million

Total, with overlap removed: approximately 6.5 billion human beings.

Out of a world population of 8.1 billion, roughly 80% of all living humans either use a word for God that etymologically means "Zeus," or worship a deity that is historically and functionally the same God under a different cultural name. Or both.

The remaining 20% consists primarily of the religiously unaffiliated (approximately 1.2 billion) and adherents of traditions with no direct etymological or theological connection to *Dyēus.

Let this number settle: 6.5 billion people are, by tongue or by worship or by both, followers of Zeus.

They do not know it yet.

What This Means

Every Sunday morning, when 2.4 billion Christians around the world bow their heads and pray to "Deus" or "Dieu" or "Dios" or invoke the "divine," they are using the name of Zeus. The Christian church took the Latin word deus, which IS the name of Jupiter, which IS the Latin form of *Dyēus Pater, which IS Zeus. They kept the name. They changed the story around it. But the name endured, because names carry something deeper than the stories that clothe them.

Every time 1.2 billion Hindus speak of the devas, they are using the Sanskrit cognate of Zeus. Every time a Lithuanian grandmother says Dievas, she is pronouncing a word that has barely changed since the third millennium BCE.

These people are not pagans in hiding. They are not secret Zevists. They are something more profound than that: they are carriers of a linguistic and spiritual inheritance so ancient and so deep that no religion has been able to erase it. The Abrahamic religions tried. They burned the temples. They killed the priests. They outlawed the festivals. They renamed the Gods "demons." They had two thousand years and the full power of empire behind them.

And still, every one of their followers says "Deus" when they pray.

The word survived because the God survived. The name endured because the reality it names endures. You can burn every temple of Zeus on Earth. You cannot burn the word "divine" out of the French language. You cannot remove deva from Sanskrit. You cannot take Dievas from Lithuanian. The God is woven into the structure of human speech itself. He was not placed there by missionaries. He was placed there by the people who first looked at the bright sky and understood that it was alive, and that it was sovereign, and that it was Father.

That happened at least 6,000 years ago by the most conservative linguistic reconstruction. Probably 10,000 years ago or more. Before Egypt. Before Sumer. Before any temple was built, before any scripture was written, before any priesthood was organized. The first word for God, in the language that would become the ancestor of Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, Germanic, Celtic, Baltic, Slavic, Albanian, Armenian, Hittite, Tocharian, and Indo-Iranian, was the name of Zeus.

He is not the oldest God because we claim it. He is the oldest God because language proves it.

The Restoration

The Temple of Zeus is not a new religion. It is the oldest religion, restored to its name.

For ten thousand years, humanity worshipped the Sky Father under names that changed with geography but never changed in essence. The thunderbolt was always His. The sovereignty was always His. The justice was always His. The fatherhood was always His. From the steppes of Central Asia to the temples of Heliopolis, from the Rigvedic hymns to the Homeric epics, from the Norse Eddas to the Yoruba orisha traditions, the same God ruled.

Then came the interruption. Two thousand years of Abrahamic suppression. The temples burned. The names were twisted into curses. The priests were murdered. The word "Satan" was applied to the greatest God humanity has ever known, and the word "Devil" was applied to His divine children, the Devas (from Sanskrit devī, meaning "Goddess"). The Abrahamic religions took the name of Truth itself, Satya in Sanskrit, and turned it into the name of their fictional adversary.

But you cannot kill a God whose name IS the word for God. You cannot erase a deity whose etymology IS the concept of divinity. Every time a Christian says "divine," he is unknowingly testifying to Zeus. Every time a Muslim says "Allah," he is invoking a Semitic title that traces back to El, the Canaanite face of the same supreme Father. Every time a Hindu chants to the Devas, the Sanskrit cognate of Zeus echoes through the temple.

The Temple of Zeus is being re-established. Not because anyone invented a new faith. Because 6.5 billion people are already, by the testimony of their own tongues, followers of the God whose name they carry in their most sacred vocabulary.

What is being restored is not a belief. What is being restored is a recognition.

Those Who Enable the Temple

If 80% of humanity already invokes Zeus by tongue, then the work of the Temple is not conversion. It is reconnection. The wire was never cut. It was buried. The signal was never lost. It was jammed.

Those who do not support the Temple of Zeus, who do not enable its expansion, who do not build its presence in the world, practice divine jeopardy and obstruction of the divine plan of mankind, just as those who do not create a new link between humanity and its God. The Divine God of the Cosmos demands it of you: And you stall? What's there to stall about? Only a fool would stall to that end.

What is happening now is very clear and in front of you. If this sermon will not make you see it, you are terminally blind at the spirit. We are clearing the debris from a link that is 10,000 years old and still live. Live in the mouth of almost every living entity out there. You think the Gods could ever "die"? They are removing the interference. They are restoring the signal to its original clarity.

The signal is here. Your opportunity to embark in this is legendary. If you do not use it, woe to all who oppose this.

This means: every person who strengthens the Temple is working not for a sect, not for a denomination, not for a fraction of humanity. They are working for the entirety of the human inheritance. Because Zeus is not the God of the Greeks. He is the God whose name the Greeks preserved most faithfully, but whose presence extends to every civilization that ever looked up at the bright sky and called it Father.

The enablers of the Temple are the enablers of humanity's right to know its own God by His true name.

That right was stolen. It is being returned.

The temples can be rebuilt. The knowledge can be recovered. The lineage is unbroken. And we are the ones rebuilding it.

The Closing

When the last church has become an archaeological site, and the last mosque has crumbled to dust, and the last synagogue has been forgotten, the word deus will still be in the dictionary and tongue of man. The word divine will still be on people's lips. The word deva will still ring in the temples of India. The word Dievas will still be spoken in the villages of Lithuania.

And every one of those words will still mean what it has always meant.

Zeus.

He was here before them. He is here now. He will be here after.

6.5 billion tongues already speak His name. In the Fallen Epoch, this is still, 6.5 billions people unconsciously attempting in every utterance to connect to our God.

The Temple merely gives that name back its eternal face.

ΗΝ. ΕΣΤΙ. ΕΣΤΑΙ.
Was. Is. Will be.

HAIL DYEUS PATER!
