In the Temple of Zeus, it is a virtue to be honest. Being honest might not always be easy and requires a lot of inner work.

The more honest one is with themselves and the Gods, the faster their progress will be.

As the Gods know humanity inside and out, attempting to act in deception towards them is both foolish and unnecessary. We are only deceiving ourselves, and it is we who suffer from our own lies the most. Often, we lie to ourselves to hide from ourselves.

External honesty is strongly related to internal honesty.

Lifting the veils of lies, illusion, and falsehood is correlated with honesty. As an external virtue, honesty is related to Truth and the formation of healthy human and social bonds, thereby fostering a better state of life than one built upon dishonesty.

Cursed be the liar in the eyes of others, for no one likes liars. What is important is being careful about where one directs their honesty. While it is true that no one likes liars, there are also many in the world who do not appreciate those who speak the Truth.

In the Temple of Zeus, among our own, integrity and honesty are the connecting links between ourselves and the Gods.

Closer will the honest man be to piercing the veil of lies about himself; the less the will to lie about and to oneself, the more the will to lie to ourselves and to others will diminish.
