Placement
Hands resting on the thighs.
Associations
Heart.

Formation

  1. Bend the index finger so its tip touches the ball of the thumb.
  2. At the same time join the tips of the middle and ring fingers to the tip of the thumb.
  3. Extend the little finger.
  4. Form the same seal with the other hand.

Example Meditation

Rest the hands on the thighs in the seal. Breathe gently into the heart and let it settle. The seal supports and calms the heart and helps the soul through times of change.

Cautions and Variants

Caution. A heart attack is a medical emergency: the seal accompanies emergency care and does not replace it.

Variants. Identical in form to Hridaya Mudra of the Bihar School (Satyananda).
