Asthma Mudra

Formation
- Bend the middle fingers of both hands.
- Press the fingernails of the two middle fingers together.
- Keep all the other fingers extended.
Example Meditation
Form the seal before the chest. Breathe slowly and calmly and let the exhalation lengthen without strain. The seal eases the breathing and counters hurry.

- Breathing. It calms breathing in acute asthma and serves long-term treatment.

- Against hurry. Haste is to be avoided: stress activates the adrenals and adrenaline constricts the bronchial tubes.

Cautions and Variants
Caution. An acute asthma attack requires its prescribed treatment; the seal is practised alongside it. Never breathe through the mouth in cold weather.
