Meaning
Seal of the Three Secrets
Tradition
Taoist practice (Kim Tawm)
Hands
Both hands, same form
Placement
On the thighs.
Associations
Water element; kidneys and bladder.

Formation

  1. Rest the hands on the thighs and place the tip of each thumb on the root of the little finger.
  2. Inhaling, close the four fingers over the thumb and sound OM inwardly.
  3. Exhaling, open the hands and let worry and fear leave the body.

Example Meditation

Rest the hands on the thighs with the thumbs at the roots of the little fingers. Inhale and close the fingers around the thumbs; sound OM inwardly while the breath is held; then exhale and open the hands, letting worries and fears leave the body. The seal clears sadness and fear and strengthens the mind.

Effects

PhysicalΣῶμα

  • Breath and abdomen. The held breath and the drawn-in abdomen work on the lower body; many depressions are linked to a weak water element, kidneys and bladder.

EmotionalΘυμός

  • Against sadness and fear. After Kim Tawm, quoting tradition: it chases away sadness, reduces fearfulness and overcomes depression.

IntellectualΝοῦς

  • Mental power. It enhances intuitive and mental powers.

SoulΨυχή

  • Personal magnetism. It increases personal magnetism and turns away misfortune and bad luck.

AscentἈνάβασις

  • The three secrets. Body, breath and sound are sealed together. Zevism recognises here the threefold discipline of every mystery.
